In sterile package

order-no.: REF 311-P

  • Outer cannula with cuff

    the inserter and
the guiding catheter with radiopaque, collapsible silicone sleeve
  • Sterile lubricating gel
  • Perforated obturator and wide neck strap

The Innovation

The unique feature of the TRACOE experc Set twist plus for percutaneous tracheostomy is the atraumatic insertion system for placing the tracheostomy tube. The system consists of two parts: the guiding catheter with silicone sleeve and the inserter for stabilization and guidance of the tube. The silicone sleeve smoothly bridges over the gap in diameter between the inserter and the end of the tube thus minimizing the risk of injury when inserting the tracheostomy tube into the trachea. The tube with inserted inner cannula is delivered with the insertion system pre-installed.

The insertion system also excels with a precise fit into the tube and a stop at the level of the neck flange. Once the tube is in the trachea the inserter and the guiding catheter are handled as one unit and removed together. By doing so the silicone sleeve flaps back and the guiding catheter can be removed easily. Alternatively first the inserter can be removed and only then the guiding catheter with silicone sleeve. The seldinger guide wire can be removed either prior or together with the guiding catheter.

The Benefits

  • Dilation is performed using the proven Ciaglia technique.
  • The atraumatic insertion system smoothes over the gap in diameter between the end of the tube and the inserter. This minimizes the risk of injury when inserting the tracheostomy tube into the trachea.
  • The stop at the level of the neck flange prevents the inserter from being inserted too far into the tube, which additionally reduces the risk of lesions.
  • The separately available tubes with inserter can also be used to reinsert into a percutaneously created tracheostoma and/or change tubes.

Each tube is supplied with

a perforated obturator and a wide neck strap. The neck strap is also available separately (REF 903-F).

SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS of the TRACOE twist plus Tube

  • Drastically reduced wall thickness and therefore
  • maximized inner diameter with thin-walled yet stable inner cannula.
  • Less outer diameter with maximized inner diameter at the same time.
  • Optimized length of cannula.
  • Safe connection of the inner cannula in the outer cannula.
  • Anatomically shaped neck flange.
  • The obturator can be used while the inner cannula is attached.
